I started up a blog last night that features free and legal christian metal downloads as an alternative to the download blogs that are offering illegal downloads. (And yes James gave me permission to use the name . This will also be part of the BlabberJesus network thingy.) By doing this, we will hopefully be able to decrease the amount of illegal downloading that is occurring because of the other download blogs.

So yeah, check it out!

Ah, I didn't realize you were adding links to the pages where you can download the files from instead of to the mp3-files directly. I think it would be better to direct the Venia link to the audio page on our website since it's in English. It contains all the same songs:

I think your list of downloads is going to get long really quick. You'll need some way to browse it by genre or alphabetically. Preferably both.

Well you should at least be able to make different categories. Now you're posting everything under a Downloads category which is the only one. You could make a category for each genre instead? Or a category for each letter, whatever works for you.

Is it possible to post something in several categories? This would open up a lot of possibilities. If something is labeled death / black you could post it under both the death metal and black metal categories. You could also use the letter categories together with the genre categories and add the bands to the letter category of the first letter in the bandname.

If it's not possible to post something under several categories or it means you have to post it several times it's probably best to go either with genres or letters.

Wordpresses category system is being retarded. It doesn't place subcategories under the main categories on the navigation bar. At this time, we can only have it alphabetically organized

Do you have to use subcategories though? If after you've added all the letter categories you add the genre categories, wouldn't that work? Or is it so that an article can only be in one category and needs subcategories in order to be in several?

There's no need to have subcategories bro. Just have the genres have their own categories. That way people can search through one particular genre rather than have to click 26 links to see if there's any black metal up.

I see. I still think the benefit of the genre categories outweigh the disadvantage of having the genres appearing in the middle of the alphabet. I think people will still understand how the categories work.

If you're going to add the genres Melodic metal, Power metal and Heavy metal, feel free to add Venia to those. The genres on MySpace are very limited, that's why we're listed as Metal / Thrash / Other there.

You could probably lose the Metal category. Since it's a metal download page technically all bands should be posted under Metal.
