| I am wondering if anyone else here has got this new release from Flaskavsae ?
"Two Pillars" is a truely awesome album, 10 tracks, clocking in at 69.09. Presenting Doom, Thrash, and Post Metal in an Unblack Metal interpretation/atmosphere that is totally unique to his other albums yet still recognizable as Flaskavsae. The Drum sound is outstanding compared with past releases, as is the production along with a great variety of tempo's and feels. The atmosphere, talent and creativity is killer! Killer riffs too!
If you dig Unblack, BM or highly atmospheric metal, you need to get this album!!! I tell you there is nothing like Flaskavsae in the Christian Unblack scene, it is one of the very best, allways has been and this album is the final masterpiece.
It was finally released nearly a month a go by EEE Recordings. |

| I still need to find Eclipse In Tides (or Celestial Eclipses) and the Christmas album. E mentioned he hopes to get re-presses of both available sometime this year though, I think. _________________

| I contacted Flask the other day and asked him to put up some of the new tracks, so keep an eye out here ... http://www.myspace.com/flaskavsae ‘Two Pillars’ track listing; 01. The Most Holy Place 02. Figures of angels, palm trees and open flowers 03. The Hall of the Forest of Lebanon 04. Throne Room (or Judgement Hall) 05. Overlaid With Gold 06. The Ark of the Covenant of the Lord 07. Two Statues of Angels 08. Forgive Your People 09. Megiddo and Gezer 10. Two Pillars A brief dicussion with FLASKAVSAE about the new album; ‘This new album is technically the next logical step forward from my last full-length ‘Philosophies’. Both albums are drastically different from each other, sonically speaking. There still is an underlying unification between the two though, seeing as both are conceptually based and meant to be consumed as one large piece of music, not just a bunch of songs thrown together. The concept of ‘Two Pillars’ is relatively simple, the two pillars are metaphoric representations of the paths one can choose; good or evil. This album is a document of an apostle who tries to do the right thing in the eyes of God, yet continually manages to fall short in his own eyes…For all of the people who support and enjoy the music of FLASKAVSAE, please do not expect ‘Philosophies Part 2′, because you will not be getting this anytime soon. Granted there are some similarities, they are few and far between. This album is my most preferred album that i have done. As of right now i am extremely pleased with how it is turning out, both in song writing and production. I am incredibly excited to share this album with the world, for God has blessed me immensely in the form of this recording…’ |

| Flaskavsae ..."Two Pillars is my favorite record i have done, in all aspects. i think the song writing, performance and production is the best in the Flaskavsae catalog. the only way i can properly describe the sound of TP is if you know my past work well; it sounds like a mix of In Memory and Philosophies. it mixes unblack, ambient, noise, thrash, doom, post-rock, death and some other metal stuff as well. hard to describe your own music, since i cannot look at it objectively, it is an extension of myself...all i can say is if you are interested in what it will sound like...buy it when it comes out!!!"
"most of my inspiration comes from our LORD, Jesus Christ. being inspired by His grace, love and mercy. other inspiration comes from my mind, nature and more so than anything, life itself. i think one of the reasons my writing has been so fluent the past few years is because of how intense life is. that manifests itself in so many ways, its easy to continually find inspiration...as far as other music goes, most of my influence is pretty obvious (at least i think); Leviathan (USA), Sapthuran, Caina, Darkthrone, Taake, Drudkh...not much from the Christian underground; some Antestor, Erasmus, Elgibbor...i dig a great deal of the EEE stuff as well, i have found some of the best Christian underground art is coming out of EEE Recordings. It is a blessing to be on the same roster as a lot of their projects." |

| The Parallels to Nothing release is actually really interesting, I'm super glad I purchased the limited edition pack when I did. I'd recommend anyone who's a fan of this project to check it out. |

| Got this yesterday and just finally finished listening to it, and it's easily the best album from this project. He shows a lot of range in the style and writing structure, incorporating some thrash and doom elements at times, and the production is stellar. If you've ever even remotely enjoyed any of Flaskavsae's material, I can't stress enough how much you'll like this album - it's pretty much a guarantee. It's a 70-minute ride that's a worthy crowning achievement for one of the most unique unblack bands that has ever come about. That being said, though, I am kinda sad that this is going to be the last Flask album (at least for a long time, judging from the liner notes). I can easily say that I've never more wished that a musical project would continue like this one... and not just because I want to hear more material. Seriously though, if you've bothered enough to even read this, go grab a copy from EEE (or start harassing James to stock it at DMD). _________________
