| I am incorporating a monthly podcast in conjunction with my "Band of the Month" feature. From now on all of my featured bands will be focused on in my podcasts. I may be a bit early for June, but this first podcast features Dysfunctional Rotout. I explore their demo in its entirety as well as introduce you to a handful of songs from their upcoming full length. Also this first podcast serves as a "recap" of ALL of my previous featured bands. So in addition to Dysfunctional Rotout I will be working my way through each band in a timeline fashion. Bands you will hear..... ForeverAtLast (9/08) Sanctum Incendia (10/08) Saving Grace (11/08) Discern (12/08) O, Majestic Winter (2/09) Erasmus (2/09) Ecthirion (3/09) Gondolin (4/09) I Built the Cross (5/09) Dysfunctional Rotout (6/09) You can also go directly to the podcast page and download the podcast at: http://metalblessingradio.podomatic.com_________________

| I had one on iTunes previously but I had the old one deleted to keep them from being confused with one another since they had close to the same name. I have submitted the new one to iTunes and it is pending approval, so it should be up by the end of the week. You can still download it on iTunes though by clicking the “subscribe with iTunes” button on the sidebar of the podcast webpage in the meantime though. _________________ |

| It is October and Halloween is just around the corner, so this Halloween I have a treat for you. I am featuring Rackets & Drapes as the band of the month for October! Some of you may be familiar with this band, as they were popular in 1999 through the early 2000's with their blend of gothic/industrial metal and shock-rock. The band has lain dormant for many years but Kandy Kane, the last remaining member is beginning to work on some solo tracks with the possibility of a new album in the future. Be sure to read my interview with Kandy Kane which will be available at www.metalblessingradio.com where you can also tune in to live 24/7 Christian metal! At first didnt like, then grew on me. I thought I'd buy their first album rather than the album the podcast track was from. I thought it kinda sucked - production is good, but the songs aren't that memorable and they're kind of a chore to get through. It's a very plain album, imo. To be fair, it is old (1993). I might try their later stuff, as the Podcast track was quite good.
| Metal Blessing wrote: | | Dbeality |
Was OK. It reminded me of Ozzy Osborne, but not as doomy as early Black Sabbath.
| Metal Blessing wrote: | | Dalit |
I very much liked this track 'Nomad'. I bought this album, it is a very good album overall, although Nomad is definitely the catchiest track. I would recommend their album, I have listened to it a few times now.

It's OK for what it is, but it's not really doom imho, more goth. Reminds me of my brother-in-law's band.
This is fantastic. I downloaded another of their tracks, which was equally awesome. I'm keen to hear more from Job.

A bit dull. Four chords, on repeat for five minutes or so. It's repetitive in a not so good way. Just feels a bit generic or something. Needs a bit of variation, especially in the dynamics.
| Metal Blessing wrote: | | Lamentations |
Liked their track. Will be checking them out. Real slow and downtuned.
| Metal Blessing wrote: | | Aggelos |
I can't take operatic female vocals seriously - they kill the mood for me, make it quite comic. Production was good though.
| Metal Blessing wrote: | | Within the Torn Apart |
Thought this track was pretty dull, to be honest. Which is weird, because I really like some ambient drone stuff. I think maybe it was because the track was too long for me. I would recommend 'Radioactive Watermelon' if you want atmospheric, ambient, and some drony stuff. They aren't really metal though.
This was an awesome podcast. Hope you do another doom one. |

| OK Dave, I was getting worried about you. I'll give you a call Wired, for paramaecium I''d recommend "A Time To Mourn" or the last one "Echoes from the Ground". Which one did you buy, was it "Within the Ancient Forest"? I wasnt a huge fan of that album although it seems to be highly regarded _________________ |

I bought 1993s 'Exhumed of the Earth' from iTunes. I'll try 'A Time to Mourn' next, as I liked the track on the podcast. |
