I ahve a pocket POD, it's good only when run through an AMP or into another external processor or three.....I take the road of running it through all my rack gear to get a unique sound. I don't have an amp. |

It's like this: if you know how to properly dial in a sound using any type of effects processor and couple that with the right type of gear you can achieve great things with them. the Line6 gear was primarily made to be coupled with tube amps which is why the sound is so flat and lifeless when run direct. shove that same line6 product through say a tube head or even a compressor/mixer the sound is much fatter. Though I run it like this
channel one pocket POD into instrument in on zoom gfx 8 [left channel out] into compressor into mixer
channel two Zoom gfx 8[right channel out] into compressor into mixer
channel three pocket POD into mixer from headphones out
I mix the three signals together and get a nice fat tone. |

| My favorite guitar is a Charvel/Jackson (early model, i believe its a japanese make, but its a beauty from the early 80's) Its got a neck thru body with Jackson pickups and the Jackson floyd rose lisensed tremelo, that I just had new parts machined for and its an amazing guitar. Best guitar ever made, Charvel/Jackson.. I love it much more than the Jacksons out now... great guitar.
I also have a Fernandez w/ Neck thru body and I put a Steve Via Evolution Pick up in there last summer. Its got a tremelo and is a GREAT back up guitar for live shows. I have to gain the mids on the pre amp to get it too sound right though for metal.
Washburn Pro. i dont know the model, it was a gift and is a great guitar. Its not too fancy, stock tremelo (think the stupid tremelos on Fenders and you get the point) and it has stock pick ups... I recorded all guitars for BTP ep on this one. its a good guitar. I like that it doesnt have a locking nut etc..
Halo - has custome halo pickups and a floyd rose wanna be tremelo. This is in need of a doctor, i am going to put a new tremelo and a new jack in it. then i will play it again.
I have a Hohner acoustic laying around
I also am in the process of putting together a Cigar Box Guitar.
My wife has a Yamaha around thats a solid guitar my daughter has an Epiphone Les Paul pee wee and I just sold a Kramer focus to a co worker. _________________ |

| It's so strange that guitarplayers constantly want more guitars, I really don't know a lot of musicians that want 15 of their instruments or a crapload of amps. I think it's amusing |

| Drummers do it with thier cymbals Keyboard players do it with old analogue synths Bassists usually do it, but they get rid of the old bass when they buy a new one. (ha ha... maybe i just know broke bassists) singers do it with thier clothes
I have never met a musician that isnt a singer that doesnt want more gear, or an upgrade or something new. Sometimes a musician is content with what they have, as they know it does what is needed and they are happy with it, thats where i want to be. _________________ |

| True. And I think those that play multiple instruments have it the worst. As Tink says, Guitar Center is his crack _________________ | NapalmDave wrote: | if you have a comb over or wear your sisters pants then walk on, no use for you here

| good one blackearth. I'm pretty sure I'll end up with collection of bass guitars in future. I'm enjoying mine although ti's not the best quality but I just want to use it ot learn the basics then get new one when I feel I'm ready to go up new level. |

Line 6 is awesome. I'd totally trade in this crappy Crate amp I have for one of those Spider III 15 amps. Anyway, here's my guitar gear:
Yamaha PAC012, my electric. Works nicely for metal. Cordoba C5-CE, my main classical guitar. Works nicely for classical, obviously. I play classical guitar. Squier MC-1, my old classical, shortscale. I retired it, but I suppose I could use it as a spare. Yamaha RBX170, my bass, which has had the same strings on for 2 years and I cannot convince my parents that is not good.
